Security and safety
Yunnan is considered very safe, and crime involving foreign
visitors is very low. It is wise, however, to observe all
normal precautions in crowded areas.
Tap water safety
Not potable. Bottled water is available everywhere
Medical
Visitors must fill in a Health Declaration Form on arrival.
Medical records may be required for stays exceeding 6 months.
Inoculations against influenza, tetanus, hepatitis B, tuberculosis,
and Japanese encephalitis are recommended for longer stays.
Malaria is endemic in remote tropical areas, check with government
health authorities for update.
