Nha Trang
Riviera of the South China Sea
Often called the Riviera of the South China Sea, Nha Trang
has a long stretch of beautiful coastline; miles of white,
sandy beaches with mountains at each end, framed by the dramatic
backdrop of mountain ranges, as well as several other good
beaches close by (Doc Let Beach, Dai Lanh Beach and Bai Tru
Beach) and more than 19 islands (of which serene Bamboo Island
is possibly the best-known).
Scuba diving and snorkeling are two very popular pastimes,
thanks to clear aqua waters, an abundant underwater life and
colourful coral reefs. Beaches here are any beach lovers
dream with their white sand, and many types of boat trips
are available to explore the surrounding islands. A smattering
of seafood eateries in the road that runs alongside the beach
serve up a wide selection of seafood and shell fish, and the
many cafés and bars are favourite hang-outs for tourists
to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and picturesque scenery. Bicycle
tours are also very popular, or you can rent a cyclo for a
tour of the Cham ruins, local market and Buddhist shrines.
International brand-name hotels and resorts are mushrooming
fast in this very popular beachside retreat, which already
has a good choice of accommodation catering for the growing
numbers of visitors flocking here in droves. These resorts
equal many of their rivals in more popular destinations in
the region. Nha Trangs days as an undiscovered beach
treasure is long over, and for years it has already been very
popular with both Vietnamese and foreign sun-seekers. Nevertheless,
it is never crowded and the atmosphere is always relaxed,
jovial and fun. This, combined with its spectacular natural
diversity and a moderate, warm climate for most of the year,
has made Nha Trang Vietnams premier coastal destination.
Nha Thrang is located about 450km northeast of Ho Chi
Minh City in the south of Vietnam. It has an airport
with daily flights from all major cities, and its
also easy to travel here by either bus or train from
Ho Chi Minh City. From the north, it is also possible
to catch a bus or train from Da Nang. With its status
as Vietnams most popular seaside retreat, comes
a big choice of hotels something for everyone.
