Mui Ne
A fishing village where time (almost) stood still

About 200km north of Ho Chi Ming City, lies Mui Ne, a former sleepy fishing village that is fast becoming a popular leisure destination. Yet, the many resort-style developments that have risen along its long stretch of coastline, the lives of the local fishing communities continue as it has for generations. Mui Ne’s long beach is quiet and serene, great for walks, jogging, to watch the fishermen at work, or to appreciate spectacular sunsets. There is no central business area, but many restaurants and eateries spread out to sample the big selection of seafood available – at very affordable prices!

There are several golf courses in the area, many beautiful pagodas to visit, spectacular red and white sand dunes, and a variety of water sports available. For the most part though, Mui Ne is a place to unwind, relax and enjoy tranquillity.

How to get there and where to stay in Mui Ne

The journey from Ho Chin Minh City by car, minibus or public bus takes anything from three to four hours, and it’s an interesting insight of local, rural life. Mui Ne is next to Phan Tiet, a slightly larger town, and between the two they offer a wide range of different accommodation.
