Yangon Weather
Travel and Local Information Guide
Yangon has a tropical monsoon climate with two distinct seasons typical of this region: wet and dry. The city is warm throughout the year, with temperatures rarely dipping below 20°C in its cooler months and reaching well into the mid-30s during its hottest months.
Best Time to Come
The best time to visit Yangon is during the cooler months of November to February, especially in December and January when the weather is also its most dry and sunny.
Seasons
Like the rest of Myanmar, Yangon enjoys dry, sunny weather from November through April, when the northeast monsoon rolls through. The temperatures rise in March and April, and when the wet southwest monsoon arrives in May it can become intensely hot and sticky. The rains continue through to the end of October, with more than 500 millimetres of rain common in the wettest months of August and September.
