This eco-tourism trip offers a close-to-nature experience. Start with a local longtail boat ride along the Nam Ngum River, some 50 kilometres from the centre of Vientiane. Visit the stunning Swedish-operated lodge, and trek through the forest with a knowledgeable guide who will give you insights and useful information about the monsoon forest eco-system and various wildlife inhabitants of the forest. Afterwards, spend the afternoon cooling off in a nearby spring water pool. Herbal sauna and traditional Lao massage are also available (optional and excluded from package price).

Ban Pako Nam Ngam River Experience

9 hrs (08:30 – 17:30 hrs)

Pick up at your hotel at 08:30 AM. Drive to Ban Pako for 1 hour. Arrive Ban Somsamai, we stop and take the traditional long-tail boat for a relaxing trip down streams to the lodge. While descending the Nam Ngum River, we appreciate the wild life and rural life on the bank of this magnificent river. We stop to make a short jungle walk in the high forest conservation area, juts opposite the lodge. We explore the forest with our experience guides who possess an extensive knowledge of monsoon forest eco-system and the various wildlife that inhabits the area.

Lunch at the restaurant of the lodge. In the afternoon, enjoy the jungle bath, a short forest walk from the lodge. You also have the option to try traditional Lao massage (not included in the tour price) and Return to hotel in Vientiane around 16:00.
