Towering stone peaks emerge through trees. Smiling faces peer down from overhead. Celestial dancers move to the rhythm of the forest. Angkor’s mist-shrouded jungles whisper centuries-old secrets – of ancient temples, a kingdom and a civilisation forever lost in time.

This tour invites you to join the ranks of those who have unravelled the secrets of Angkor Wat. Explore the ancient labyrinth of interlocking passages and hidden chambers, then the Phimeanakas, the three-tiered ‘pyramid’ where the king performed a nightly ritual to appease the mythical serpent god, Naga.

At Angkor Thom, climb up the steep stone steps that lead to ‘heaven’, to be with the gods. Enter The Bayon and feel humbled by the overpowering presence of the gods and their mysteriously smiling faces, before arriving at the jungle-covered Ta Phrom, the only temple in Angkor Wat that remains buried under the roots of overgrown fig trees.

For several decades, Ankor Wat’s otherworldly presence has amazed travellers from all corners of the world. It is one of the world’s most magnificent ancient wonders you don’t want to miss.

Angkor Wat - Adventure Tour

08:00-17.00 hrs

You will be picked up from your centrally located hotels between 8.00 and 8.30am. We start our Angkor temples adventure with a visit to Angkor Wat easily the most famous and best-preserved of all temples within the Angkor complex.

We then move on to Angkor Thom city visiting Bayon, with its 54 towers decorated with more than 200 enigmatic smiling faces, Phimeanakas, Baphoun, Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King. We finish the morning with a stop at the very photogenic South Gate of Angkor Thom City where the gods and demons line the road leading to the gate struggling in a cosmic tug-of-war.

The Gate itself is crowned with four large faces facing in the cardinal directions. Lunch is Khmer style in a village surrounded by rice paddies. Enjoy a spread of great local food followed by a nap lazing in a hammock, or explore the village to see the traditional way of life and play with the families there.

After lunch we visit the beautiful Ta Prohm (Tomb Raider) temple which was made famous by Angelina Jolie. Feel like one of the early explorers as you visit this temple which has been left to be reclaimed by the jungle. If time permits finish the day climbing one of the oldest buildings in the Angkor complex, the brick temple of Pre Rup.

  • Notes (Standard dress): Dress standards are conservative throughout Asia, especially outside major cities. To respect this and for your own comfort, we strongly recommend you wear modest clothing. This means clothing that covers your shoulders and knees. Loose, lightweight, long clothing is both respectful and cool in the predominantly hot Asian climate.
  • Notes (Tipping): If you are happy with the services provided a tip - though not compulsory - is appropriate. While it may not be customary to you, it is of great significance to the people who will take care of you during your travels, inspires excellent service, and is an entrenched feature of the tourism industry across many Urban Adventures destinations.
  • Notes (Closure of site): From time to time Cambodia authorities close certain temple sites temporarily with very little if any notice. In the unlikely event that this happens passengers will be provided with an equally exciting itinerary.

    Transfer Services

Getting around Cambodia by public transport in Cambodia is hard work. Buses may not be easy to figure out for the first-time visitor, while taxis or tuk-tuks are only available in some major cities and they usually don’t go far. Read More...
